Studies prove that The potent Oral contraceptives to treat acne

Oral contraceptives will be an option in addition to antibiotics to cure acne. The latest research shows, they both have the same effectiveness although the mechanism is different.

In a second type of testing, the drug is equally potent heal 50 percent of acne. The dermatologist can make it a viable option for patients, given the antibiotics currently gives a lot of side effects.

Various prior studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of birth control pills to cure acne. However, there are differences compared to the sat's mechanism. Therefore, antibiotics to work better within the first 3 months while the pill is better in the next three months.

"Oral contraceptives took longer because it has a different mechanism of action," said Dr. Kelly h. Tyler, a dermatologist from the Ohio State University who was not involved in the study, as quoted from Reuters, Friday (6/6/2014).

Antibiotics work faster because it has a antiradang content. Oral contraceptives do not have similar content, so it works slower even though it ultimately provides roughly the same effectiveness.

In a study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology this, antibiotics reduce acne as much as 48 percent in the first three months while only 37 percent of the oral contraceptive. But after 6 months, oral contraceptives reduce acne as much as 55 percent and 53 percent of antibiotics.
